2014 Youth Indoor Soccer Skills Program
The Indoor Program will focus on learning new skills, playing small sided games and most of all having fun. 50 per cent skill development and 50 per cent small-sided games with a final scrimmage in a non-competitive, fun and relaxed atmosphere. The Indoor Program is not a league. There are no fixed teams, champions, medals, standings or scorers. In fact, no prior soccer experience is required to sign up for the program. The focus is on skill development to give youth a chance to grow their talents and love of the game.
Thursday evenings at Huntsville High School
U6 & U8 & U10 - 6 pm to 7 pm
U12 & U14 - 7 pm to 8 pm

In the past registrations for indoor soccer have been accepted at the gym when the program starts. The Huntsville Soccer Club’s goal is to have every coach certified. The Club is committed to our coaches and will provide free training courses and training manuals. These NCCP courses are excellent resources.
FUNdamentals (U6-U8 female & U6-U9 male)
Tuesday April 22nd & Tuesday April 29th (6pm - 10pm) at Huntsville High School
At this stage, individual player development is paramount. Coaches and teachers should create a
stimulating learning environment where the atmosphere is “Freedom and Fun.”
Learn to Train (U8-U11 Female & U9-U 12 Male)
Saturday & Sunday May 3rd - 4th (8am-5pm) at Huntsville High School
The effect of the role-model is very important at this stage. Children begin to identify with famous players and successful teams, and they want to learn imaginative skills. Skill demonstration is very important, and the players learn best by “doing.” Players move from self-centered to self-critical, and they have a high stimulation level during basic skills training. This is also an important time to teach basic principles of play and to establish a training ethic and discipline. Repetitions are important to develop technical excellence, but creating a fun and challenging environment is still essential for stimulating learning.
Active Star (Mini Mario, Timbit & U6)
Saturday May 31st (8am - 10pm) at Huntsville High School
Stage 1 of Long Term Player Development, Wellness to World Cup, is called Active Start and it is
designed for U4 to U6 Female and Male players. It has also been called "First Kicks".
Soccer contributes to the well-being of children by engaging them in the sport while teaching them basic movements. At this introductory level, the objective is to get them moving and to keep active.
