2013 Soccer Jersey Donation

Dear athletes and parents,

This 2013 soccer season there will be a collection of the Huntsville Soccer Club’s house league jerseys to donate to the Canadian Food for Children organization. The Canadian Food for Children organization is a registered charity with the Canadian government, run through the help of volunteers and donations. They currently send food and donated materials to 22 developing countries.  This year we will be sending our jerseys to the organization to be distributed to children overseas. The jerseys will help instil hope as well as confidence with a “we can do it” attitude in the lives of the children.

Collection will take place after the 2013 season is finished. It will include all jerseys of those who are willing to donate.  The jerseys can be of any size and past jerseys will be accepted as well.  Bins will be placed at the awards table on Soccer Day for the drop off of jerseys. Also there will be a bin put outside the shed at the McCulley South fields every Thursday evening 7-9 in August.  If this does not work for an individual then a one-on-one basis can be arranged.

For more information on Canadian Food for Children visit http://www.canadianfoodforchildren.net/.

If you have any questions please contact Raylan Jamison, at raylan.jamison@hotmail.com

2013 Huntsville Homsay Program with Muskoka Language International

Muskoka Language International brings international students to Canada for short and long-term cultural and academic programs in Canadian cities and small towns.

This summer, we have a group of students coming to Huntsville from July 24 – August 5. The visitors are 15-17 year old girls from Japan, who will be participating in a school program during the day.

We are seeking enthusiastic families to host one student for the duration of this program. The students, who would spend evenings and weekends with your family, require three meals per day and daily transportation to Pine Glen Public School.

Not only is this an exciting opportunity to learn from another culture, but by hosting an international student through the Huntsville Soccer Club, a donation of $100 will be made to the Club as a result of your family hosting a Japanese Student this summer. Families who sign up to host an international student from July 23 – August 5, 2013 will be compensated $249.

Create lifelong friendships and share your family’s culture and traditions through this unique experience!

If you are interested in hosting, or have any questions about the Homestay program, please contact Hannah Luke, Homestay Administrator, at hluke@mliesl.com or 416-646-5405 ext. 278.
