Referees

The Huntsville Soccer Club is committed to the development of youth and adult referees under the direction of the Head Referee.

 

Who can Referee?

The HSC currently limits referees to age 13 (as of March 31st, 2008) and older. You do not have to play soccer to become a referee.

 

How many Referees are currently involved with the HSC?

18 referees are currently available.

 

How do I become a certified referee?

The class Level 4 referee course is a two-day course costing $50. The Huntsville Soccer Club is holding a class Level 4 referee course on May 3rd and 4th (2 day course). The course will run from (:00am - 4:00pm at the Pine Glenn Public School in Huntsville. In order to reserve your spot, please contact Steve Potts - Head Club Referee by e-mail or phone.

 

How much time is required?

Current time commitments are 1-2 games per week.

 

What games are assigned to younger referees?

Typically younger referees are assigned at least one age group below their current age. Assistant or Sideline Referees are also used for the U-19 and Adult age divisions where they see first hand how a more experienced referee officiates a game.

 

How much do I get paid?

Level 4 referees-(U10/U12) -- $25/game
Assistant Referee-(U19 games) -- $10/game
Assistant Referee-(Adult games) -- $15/game
